The bachlorette party is the night the bridesmaids look forward to the most (and the brides, the least) as it will most likely be a long series of embarassing moments for the soon-to-be Mrs.  It is the perfect night to let your hair down and wear your most "escanduloso" outfit as most of the attention will be focused on the bride and her ridiculous sashes and crowns.  Just remember the cardinal rule - short OR low-cut - NOT both.  Let's get to it!

This top is festive, but not over-worked and the saturated purple color suits most complexions and hair colors.

Grape jersey ruffle v-neck tank - BCBGMAXAZRIA $65
Pair the longer top with super skinny black pants with ankle zippers for a rocker (and kinda Jersey) look.  (P.S. As a native New Jerseyan, I am totally not dissing the Garden State, but celebrating its unique and quickly identifiable style that happens to be perfect for an all night party extravaganza.)

Zip Hem Skinny Pant - bebe $99
My best advice that I always share with others - if you are going to do heels when going out - ALWAYS wear ones with at least a half inch platform.  They are so much more comfortable than stilettos-sans-support.  These purple ones with the studding contribute to the edgy vibe we've got going and are an appropriate height for some walking and dancing.

Fiesta - Naughty Monkey $59.99
I would skip the necklace since the top has so much going on around the neckline.  You never want your style to compete with itself because then nobody wins.  Complete the ensemble with a cuff and some dangly earrings.

To add an element of interest to this otherwise standard outfit, I added an over-the-top (and most likely out-of-the-budget) clutch.  I like that this clutch is a little larger so that you can store your survival kit (see below) in it.

Tie Dye Easy Rider Date Clutch - Rebecca Minkoff $375
Bachlorette parties are more like marathons than sprints with many hours spent getting ready, going to dinner, gabbing over cocktails, making fun of the bride, dancing, and more dancing.  It is essential that you come prepared, so I have put together a list of necessities for the big night out.

Because no one is fun when they have a pounding headache, I swear by Excedrin Migraine and have shunned every other analgesic. Just be careful combining with alcohol and giving your liver a one-two punch.

Mentha Lip Tint in Pink Mint by C.O. Bigelow is the best for making your lips super glossy, but not super sticky.

Shimmer is ok, shine is not. Keep your face looking fresh (even after 5 tequilla shots) with Guerlain's Terracotta Light Summer Bronzing Powder. Alert: expect to see this baby a lot on this blog. I am obsessed with it.

When you can't take another step, you will be glad you packed these roll-ups instead of the fruit variety.

Good luck, soldier! May you make it through the night with nary a drunken fight nor missing bride (unless you go to Atlantic City where those events are certain to occur).

hayley, this was my fave post of yours so far, 2nd to rompers of course... but it did make me wary of my bachelorette party upcoming- but i guess i am not the typical bride, i am psyched for it! just dont make me cry hahahahaah.

the "wedding wear" series is a great idea... im assuming you will also do "wedding", but have you considered other pre-wedding events? rehearsal dinner? morning of prep attire? obviously, i will be coming to this for planning all my attire as i attend 4 weddings this summer...

Katie - thank you for your suggestions, which are incredibly useful, as usual. I am continuing with the wedding series and will try to incorporate as many events as possible! Everyone seems to be at the point where they attend at least 4 to 5 weddings a year, so I think it can be a good resource for everybody.
